ASUS Rog Phone 3 Boxing Day Deals 2021
First of all, this phone is very slightly above average. The build quality is top-notch but I’m not a fan of the looks and the camera performance is very mediocre and so is the UI even though it has a custom skin over android Pie 9.0 which could have been better if they hadn’t messed up with the UI.
Firstly, the design of this phone disappoints me a lot and I’m very comfortable with it. It does look premium though but that’s all I can say about it is that it looks premium and nothing else. The placement of buttons and ports is also not great as they aren’t symmetric at all and also the volume rockers and power buttons are too stiff and hard to press even though they do feel nice and solid, with no rattling or anything like that.
The display on the other hand is one of the best 18:9 panels I’ve ever seen with a resolution of 2560x1080p which isn’t as crisp as the QHD displays but it’s not bad at all. It’s sharp, vibrant and the colours are nice but not great because the DCI-P3 98% sRGB colour gamut is missing here. Also, there are no options for manual adjustments in the display settings menu which bugs me a lot.
The performance of this phone is also quite average as it’s not as snappy as you would expect from a phone with 8GB of RAM and is also not great for gaming even though the phone has a vapour-chamber cooling system which does make it slightly better but still doesn’t justify the performance. Also, there are no options to choose different performance modes in the settings menu which is quite odd considering that gaming is one of the best features of this phone.
There are lots of Gaming specific modes and display options that do work wonderfully and make gaming really enjoyable but I still think that Asus should have done a better job regarding the performance because even though it’s decent, it’s not the best.
